As a result of the specialized care, patient survival rates improved dramatically, generating a call for additional units capable of caring for seriously ill patients with heart diseases. Once these cardiac care units were developed in the 1960s, the need for nursing specialists in intensive care increased significantly. Radiology is a medical specialty that utilizes imaging to diagnose and treat disease visually perceived within the body. Triage service is the process of determining the priority of patients' treatments predicated on the rigor of their condition. This rations patient treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be treated immediately. A surgical nurse is a nurse who specializes in perioperative care, designating care provided to surgical patients afore, during, and after surgery. Duties are pre-operative and post-operative.  The overall goal of disaster nursing is to achieve the best possible level of health for the people and the community involved in the disaster. Disaster Nursing is practiced in a situation where professional supplies, equipment, physical facilities and utilities are limited. Analgesics are the mainstay of pharmacologic treatment of pain. Sedative, hypnotic and anxiolytic drugs do not provide analgesia. Muscle relaxants (paralytic agents) do not provide analgesia and pain is difficult to assess in patients receiving neuromuscular blockade.
